I think many know that I have back problems. (How could you miss it? LOL) I have discs missing in the lumbar and a few herniated plus a twisted vertebrae that have the spinal cord trapped in it and a vertebrae pushing against the spinal cord in my neck which causes my left arm to go numb.

When I first had my discs blow it was the most Gods awful pain I have ever had!!!! Child birth was a joy compared to this! I couldn’t walk so Starfire had to carry me up and down stairs. I could crawl to the bathroom. It took fighting with my Doc to get an MRI done but we finally got one and found out the real cause of the extreme pain.
So my Chiropractor has been trying to figure out how to help get rid of as much pain as possible in my lower back. About 9 months ago he hit on it and the pain has been a lot less up until the last few weeks.
Imagine this…..
Sitting on the toilet, You go to get up, but the pain in your back is so bad you can’t so you have to have help. How embarrassing!!!! At least this isn’t too bad during the day when no one is around. I can at least pull my ass up by using the sink and window sill. (don’t ask).
Oh and getting out of the bath is a trick all in itself!!!! I feel like such an old woman!

Then there is the shoulder coming out of place. The last time I was in my shoulder was popping up on top of my collar bone! Oh yeah that was a lot of fun and the sound of bone grinding on bone! Ooooh baby!

One reason why I am having so much more pain is the insurance doesn’t want to pay what they are suppose to so I have to go less than what my medical Doctor prescribed for me.
I also found out that the only thing that is keeping me walking and not having my vertebras move out of alignment are my muscles. If I am ever in a really bad accident or fall I could be paralyzed from the neck down. Nice thought eh?
Now I am not wanting sympathy all though a bit wouldn’t be bad but I just need to let it be known what is happening. One thing that does keep me fighting is the fact I can do things for others, teach, merchant (sometimes) make stuff and talk with people here.

Now for the real irritant in my life. The ACN, American Chiropractic Network, Do NOT confuse this with the ACA, American Chiropractic Association. The ACN is hired by United Health Care to basically refuse chiropractic treatments. The ACN once again has denied me treatments because they do not see an improvement in my back. Gee did I miss something in thinking that chiropractic treatments align the back and keep me walking? Could it really replace the missing discs in my back? Straighten my curvature permanently???? What part did I miss, with the vertebrae in my neck pushing against the spinal cord and the one in my lumbar L4 that is twisted and pushing against the spinal cord, that this could be fixed permanently?
Did I mention that the ACN doctor (I use that term loosely) Joseph Carpino refused last year to look at the MRI report of even the film from the MRI? The ACN with also not discuss anything with the patient.
I wrote letter after letter to United Health care, OCLC, (Online Computer Library Center who the insurance is through), Department of Insurance of Ohio, Department of Labor Relations, and many more and basically was told nothing could be done. Funny thing though that when I had another chiropractor say he worked on me at the end of the year the ACN gave me unlimited treatments.
We pay for 24 treatments a year. I have had about 14 to date. Now I am not asking for more than I am supposed to have just what I have paid for.
Did I also mention that I have a prescription from my medical doctor for chiropractic care???? I really do not want to end up in a wheel chair if it can be prevented with something as simple as chiropractic treatments.
My treatments are about the only thing that is keeping me mobile.
So I have been working with the ACA and have given permission for the ACA to use my case in helping to take the ACN out.
Can you tell I am just a wee bit tired of the Bull Shit from Insurance Companies playing doctor when they don’t even have a medical degree to do so?????
