ACN and United Healthcare not in it for the patients

ACN Doing only what they want? On the ACN web site they have a statement about how everyone will have the best medical care they can through help with their experienced doctors and through education. The problem with this is the ACN will not talk with the patient as per United Healthcare rules. So how can the patient learn if they are not taught? In another part of their web site the CAN has a statement that they will survey their patients and doctors annually as to their over all experience with the ACN.I have never been sent a survey in the 3 years I have had dealings with them.Does the ACN only send these surveys out to a certain number of people? Where are the results of these surveys? Something the ACN does not seem to mention is they have a tier system for their doctors of chiropractic. A tier 1 is basically a doctor who does a limited amount of treatment on their patients, along with not having as much paper work to do and are not watched as closely.A tier 2 is a chiropractor who seems to have returning or chronic pain patients plus has a lot more paper work to do and for the most part the treatments are denied by the ACN. are watched much more closely, and most of their treatment requests are denied it seems. I have gone to two different chiropractors in the same office. One was a tier 1 the other a tier 2. Both gave the same treatment but the tier 1 doctor did not have any problems getting treatments approved. So to sum this up it seems the ACN is not looking at the patients and their health needs but at where the ACN has placed the doctor and the job they (the ACN) thinks they should do to save the insurance company money.

United Healthcare and the ACN once again

Well after being foolish this last Saturday and trying to have some kind of a life I went and kind of helped with an SCA demo. Boy was that the wrong thing to do. I couldn’t walk Saturday night or most of Sunday. After taking the Percocet and muscle relaxers like candy I was able to get to the chiropractor today.

Oh but wait it gets better!

Yes the insurance company is now having me do at home paper work. They want me to document how I feel at home and not just when I go to the chiroprator. Of course I have pain when I go to the chiropractor or I wouldn’t go! DUH! But now they want to know if I have pain while at home. I have told them repeatedly that I do but not as bad after having a treatment. Guess they don’t read the paper work or listen to the phone calls being made.

Personally I think this is just a ploy to see if I do this paper work. If I don’t then they can say I didn’t cooperate with them. If I do they can still deny me treatments.

I recieved a letter from the ACA’s lawyer to give them permission to use my medical records in court if need be today.  So I think that may be interesting.

Anyway I am back to walking. It is slow right now but my Kimoodo class will help with the stiffness.

Gun toting, effigy/poppet shooting Jill

Sounds like a bad western doesn’t it?

Well it isn’t folks, this is a real person who has decided to let it be known that she didn’t like what a person was saying about the Frosts. Took a gun and shot what she herself said was an effigy then changed that to a poppet and once again changed it to a paper target with the intent written on it.

In her own words

Hmm…Jill Medicine Heart here– it’s funny that NO ONE has asked me take on this whole situation about the effigy thing– actually, it was more of a paper poppet to get AJ to to “cease and desist his actions”. I geared it to something particular and it worked with a bit of collatoral damage attached to it, but no biggie. My loss of my position with CUUPS as Vice President was more to save face for the ministers who are on our board more then anything else. I am still the Registry Agent for them as well as the Regional Coordinator for Pagan Pride.

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=10005216AJ seems to think that I had time to build an effigy of him and go after him with an assault rifle.  First off, I didn’t HAVE the time nor the materials to do such a thing.  Heck, I didn’t even have a needle and thread to make a poppet…so I used a paper target with written intentions– it was NOT a ritualistic murder. I still have the paper target if anyone wants to see what I wrote on it.  Besides, as I have said in my blog on myspace, Target World only allows for a maximum of .22 rimfire for rifles.  Geesh, I have NOOOOOOO clue where he got this idea I built an effigy of him and did this with an assault rifle. Uh besides, I live in the ‘burbs and there is NO where around that I can fire an assult rifle.  Yes, I target shoot. It’s a hobby of mine and I compete at NRA events.  80 rounds into a paper target is nothing compared when I do practice. I am also a concealed carry license holder.

From someone else on a blog who caught her in a lie and admitting she used an effigy and witches bottle

Medicine Heart really needs to try to keep a consistent story. You yourself used the word effigy in your original explanation of what you were doing.
“Lets put it this way— my first ritual consisted on firing 80 rounds into a target that I created as an effigy of sorts. If this fundie pagan wants to play with effigy’s, I can too dammit.”
“The only damndable thing about this and the witches bottle I created for Phase Three– I had to sacrifice a jarfull of pickles so I could have a jar to work with!”

AJ, welcome to the Pagan Religious Reich, Dumbass.

A fireman friend of mine said that if his brain damage might have been caused by the electrocution — then the voltage wasn’t high enough. And if AJ truly suffered a stroke afterwards, the clot wasn’t big enough.            Brain Damage is SUCH a terrible thing to waste!

I really hate having to think of giving up on Pagan Pride Day but if they are more then willing to let someone of this mental state be co-ordinator well, are we safe attending a Pagan Pride event with her?

United Healthcare and the ACN Once again we start with the letters

As I am sure many know I have had a fight for over 3 years with Untied Healthcare and the ACN (American Chiropractic Network) of denying me chiropractic care. They will give me about 10 if that many and then in April they will deny me until about November or the last week of December and then give me all my allowed chiropractic visits of which we are paying to have 24 but so far have not recieved them.

The ACA (American Chiropractic Association) has picked up my case and are working with me on how to get my treatments. to help keep the pain down and to keep my spinal cord from being any more damaged and to keep me out of a wheel chair. So now I need to start what is called an apeal proccess all over again. I did this in 06 with writting letters for 6 months and kept adding names to send letters to with each time.

The problem I have is the ACN claim that my chiropractic treatments is maintence care. If keeping my spinal cord from being damaged and keeping me out of a wheelchair maintence then why wouldn’t high blood presure medicine and diabetes medicine be maintence?

Here is my letter

 APPEAL LETTER

Dear Sirs

This is an appeal letter to reinstate my 24 visits a year chiropractic visits. I have sent in 3 times since the denial by Joseph Carpino on December 10 2007 through my chiropractor stating the seriousness of my condition and the new MRI results. My Chiropractor has also sent in a complete and new evalutation of my condiction.

I have heard nothing as in approval or denial of these requests and I  feel that the ACN is ignoring these requests even with the new information of degerantion of my condiction.

I was also denied visits in 2006 and 2007 even with my medical doctor having written a prescription for me to have chiropractic treatments.

Last year I paid out of pocket over a thousand dollars for my chiropractic treatments. This then created a hardship for getting medicines for myself and my fiancé which included high blood pressure medicine, diabetic medicine, colon medicine, migraine medicine, pain medicine among others. It also made it so I could not get new medicine my doctor wanted to put me on for the neuropathy and pain caused by the degenerative discs and scoliosis.

My last MRI on January 9 2008 showed that I have In the Thoracic

Degnerative Disc Disease at C5 with associated end plate osteophytosis. Mild midline to left paracentral posterior protrusion, mildly effacing the anterior epidural space. Minimal degenerative spondylosis involving the thoracic spine, right lower thoracic scoliosis mesuring 23 degrees, a thinning of the spinal cord.

 In the Lumbar

L2-L3 Prominet disc space narrowing with anterior end plate osteophytosis, posterior joint arthrosis, right predominant with associated degenerative spondylolisthesis of L2, disc protrusion extending in to the L2-L3 neural foramen.

L3-L4 Decrease in disc signal intensity, degenerative posterior annular bulge, posterior joint arthrosis, left predominant with minimal neural foraminl stenosis.

L4-L5 Posterior joint arthrosis, left predominant minimal left L4-L5 neural foraminal stenosis.

L5-S1 Posterior joint arthrosis.

The left thoracolumbar scoliosis measuring 31 degrees.

 In the Cervical Spine

C3-C4 decreased disc space height with left sided disc/osteophyte complex producing encroachment of the left anterior thecal sac and mild left foraminal encroachment.

C5-C6 dicreased disc space height with diminished signal intensity of the disc indicating disc desiccation/dehydration with broad based posterior disc protrusion type of disc herniation extending to the left with osteophyte. On measuring approximately 2.0-2.5mm producing encroachment of the anterior thecal sac and mild canal narrowing.

The Thoracic Spine and the Lumbar Spine has become worse since the MRI in 07. We believe this to be due to the wrongful practices, neglect and denial of  timely treatments as ordered by my medical doctor,  by ACN, United Healthcare and OCLC for the last 2 years going into 3 now.

The ACN refuses to speak with the patient and refers me to United Healthcare. United Healthcare refers me to ACN.

The ACN states that my treatments are maintenance care. When did it become maintenance care to prevent spinal cord damage or to keep a person out of a wheel chair? If this is so then is not anything we do today in the way of health care considered maintenance? When will it become maintenance to take diabetes medicine, or high blood pressure medicine, have dialysis, or even open heart surgery?

I am now on Ativan, Percocet, and Cymbalta not only for the pain, but also for the depression caused by the worsening of the pain, the worry over financial matters, and the fact that I have not been able to have any kind of a normal life because of the denial of medical treatments which not only helps with the pain by taking pressure off the nerves but also makes it possible for me to function enough to be able to care of myself at this point. I have not been able to do any kind of work since last July.

Sincerely

Today is suppose to be special

So today is my birthday.

I got up at the same time I do most days. Ate my fruitloops while reading PN, gave the dogs their food and then walked them. Nothing special  in any of that just the same old stuff different day. Then I took a shower and dressed (now theres something different. Dressing I mean) and drove up (again something different) to get my drivers license. Yes folks I am good to be on the roads for another few years Look out! Although I do not drive much any more just because it is a bit painful to do so. This is kind of sad because I use to love to drive! I would go out on the back roads in Illinois and just enjoy the country side especially in the summer. One time I remember driving down this road that have a small bridge over a little creek. There was a huge Terrapin turtle in the middle of the road. I stopped to help him off the road before someone ran over him or decided to have him for supper. Another time was driving along and saw this herd of deer. There had to be at least 50 in it.

Anyways…….I really celebrated I guess yesterday since Starfire made his famous Chicken Normandy. This is chicken breast stuffed with apples. It has a breading of minced cashews which you then fry and then bake in the oven to finish the cooking. There is a glorious cream sauce to die for that goes over this. Then I have made my angle food cake with wild strawberry jello and whipped cream.

Tonight I get to work at the dojo on Kimoodo

Another One Bites the Dust

It is always wonderful to go to see a new doctor or specialist isn’t it? All that paper work and then the not knowing what they are going to be like, how they will treat you as a person, and then what they will come up with for their diagnosis. So this morning I get my ass up at godawful in the am to make it to an 8a.m. appointment in Westerville. Now understand I never use to be up before 10am until of late (that is another story)So I get in there. They hand me a bunch of papers to fill out first thing. (I really wish they would send them so I could take my time and fill them out completely)Get the papers filled out and didn’t even get a chance to sit down. Ok I think this looks promising, no waiting.Did you ask what the rooms looked like???? Oh well there were 2 nice leather chairs and a nice leather couch along with a nice sink in the room and a big screen for the computer. How big did you ask?  Oh about 3 feet across and 2 feet high with a small lap top connected to it. I had sneaked a peak in another room and the sink in there had a bowl for the sink, like you see in the ads on T.V.Yeah okkkk. So the doctor walks in. I was not prepared to have a Sikh for a neuro surgeon. Oh what is a Sikh you ask???? Well it is a person who is of the Middle East who wears a black turban with a white cap underneath. Now while this may be a professional choice here in the middle east only certain people are allowed to wear the black turbans. Anyway he asked a few questions poked me with a pin and came up with the conclusion that my back is not causing my pain. Scoliosis does not cause pain. Just because I have my vertebras pinching the nerves in my cervical, thoracic, and lumbar that isn’t causing pain.Ok So as I sit here in pain I am wondering how I get to meet all the quacks…………
